This 16th Century Thatched Dorset farmhouse near the village of Marshwood has been meticulously restored, retaining its rural character, while offering modern facilities and comfort. Only a few miles from Bridport, Lyme Regis and Axminster, there is a choice of two rooms, one master with shower en-suite, and one large double (king) with private bathroom – both with LCD digital TV, hairdryers and tea-making facilities. The two bedrooms are very spacious and have traditional beams and brickwork and their are a sofa or easy chairs in both rooms. A full English breakfast or alternative is served in the dining room, which has an inglenook fireplace with woodburner that is lit for your comfort in the winter months.
Set in the idyllic countryside of West Dorset, Harmshay Farm overlooks the spectacular Marshwood Vale. We are just 10 minutes drive from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage and come highly recommended on their website, making us an excellent choice of accommodation if you are attending a River Cottage short course or event.
The farm is situated in the middle of a vast network of public footpaths, surrounded by native wildlife. For those of you who do not arrive on foot, there are spacious parking facilities.
