Lyme Regis is ideal as a holiday resort at any time of the year, in the midst of Winter one can bask in sunshine to equal the Riviera, Spring is a glorious season with the lanes and fields carpeted with daffodils and primroses, in Summer it is never too hot, the air being cooled with sea breezes, and in Autumn our Season continues to the end of October with all the marvelous tints of Autumn foliage in the countryside.
First and foremost, we have glorious golden Sands, perfectly safe for Bathing at all times; and at low tide, hundreds of pools are uncovered to the delight of the young Yachtsman and Shrimping enthusiast. The Beach is always clean, being washed by the tide twice a day.
A new Double Deck Shelter, one of the finest on the South Coast, has just been built; the lower deck at Parade level, is a perfect suntrap, whilst the top deck provides a glorious panorama of the beach and harbour. There are plenty of deck chairs on both decks. Lock-up Bathing Huts, Bathing Tents and Deck Chairs are available and may be hired for any period. Enquiries and application for advance bookings

We have a famous Harbour, called The Cobb, built many hundreds of years ago, from whence sailed ships to fight the Armada. In Summer it is filled with Yachts and Boats of all descriptions, and many sea trips can be made to the neighbouring Ports. There is also a well stocked Aquarium situated on the Victoria Pier.
The Fisherman may hire Rowing or Motor Boats and obtain a good day’s sport in the Bay, and the Sailing Club welcomes visitors and holds races generally three times weekly. The Golf Course is situated on high ground a mile from the town and is a first class course kept in very good condition. For the Tennis enthusiast, hard Courts will be found in Hill Road, and these together with the Putting green and Obstacle Golf in the Langmoor Gardens are owned by the Council.
A First Class Bowling Green is situated at the Western End of the Town on the Monmouth Beach and a cordial invitation is extended to all visitors. Cricket Matches are played at Uplyme on an excellent pitch, and many excellent touring sides may be seen during the Season.
We have an interesting Museum, in which may be viewed antiquities of Lyme dating back through the centuries, and a very fine collection of fossils. Indoor entertainment can be found at the Regent Cinema, a superĀ cinema showing the latest films, and the Marine Theatre provides a first class program of varied entertainment and Dancing to some of the leading dance bands.
The Lang moor Gardens and the new Lord Lister Gardens will be found behind the Parade, a quiet secluded spot tastefully laid out and ideal Tor
summer day.
